Bitmap and Vector

Bitmap images are made up of tiny little squares called pixels. A bitmap image will only remain clear at a certain distance. Once you zoom in too far, a bitmap image becomes "pixellated" or blurry. One program you can use to create bitmap images is Photoshop. Vector images are different than bitmap because they are made up of lines. Also, no matter how far you zoom in on a vector image, the image will remain clear.  The program used to create vector images is called Adobe Illustrator.

So far my favorite activity in class has been working with Adobe Illustrator because I enjoy making logos.

Snow Days

How to you think it is possible to make up all the work missed from snow days?
At this point I think it is pretty much impossible to make up all of the work from missed snow days. Even if we went to school through summer, it would be tough to make up everything we've missed. All we can do now is do our best to cram in as much work as possible in the days we have left. Some teachers have been able to avoid massive amounts of work being missed by assigning snow day packets, yet some teachers have kept their "we have all the time in the world" pace. The teachers that keep the snails pace are the reason we are so behind in our work. Even if we have snow days, there's really no excuse for not making the work up. Students should not be punished for snow days by having to come to school during spring and summer break. Instead, teachers should be pushed harder to fit the backbone of the curriculum into the time they have left and cut out all of the unnecessary crap.

Do you think the state should change the schedule for next year so that we can get in more days?  Explain your answer.
No, the school schedule for next year should stay the same. The only reason we have a mandatory 180 days of school now is because the schools are lazy and don't know how to deal with a faster pace. The majority of the students in school are able to learn the content of a regular class in about half the time. The entire student body should not suffer because of a few slow learners. If anything the schools should allow students to graduate at their own pace. Those who are able to learn the curriculum at a faster pace should be allowed to move on to the next level as soon as possible. If that is not an option, then those who work at a faster pace and have good grades should be allowed the "extra" days off of school for their hard work and effort.

Jan 29th Blog

What have you learned so far in this class (count research and software)? I've actually learned a good bit while researching for my psa. I found out that there's over 200 million people still in slavery in the world today.

What would you like to learn in this class? I would like to learn more about photography and also how editing photos would apply to a real world job or situation.
